Sounds from The Container
40ft Brewery, Dalston. London, May 2016.
A whole container from a brewery transformed into a musical instrument.
All the guests happily playing with it.
A network of contact microphones arranged on the outside picked up the signal every time the wall of the container was hit. This signal was amplified, distorted and broadcast in real time inside the container. All the cables and speakers were hidden, enhancing the feeling that the entire container was a musical instrument. The items arranged to hit the wall were a collection of antiques from the flea market.
